Canvass Series: Empowering Budaya |
The Challenges of Cultural Nihilism & Fetishism
27th March
The Canvass Series serves as a platform to address issues pertinent to societal development, but are often overlooked, in particular, by the Malay community.

The lecture goes on to explore the concept of culture in the Malay community and how it has been impeded by cultural fetishism and nihilism as seen by their fixation on preserving practices through the performing arts; practices that are not carried in their lived experiences. Hence, the lecture led by Dr Azhar Ibrahim discussed ideas and ways to empower budaya while reflecting the community's ideals and values.
